Fault 6: The machine is leaking water

1. The water tray is blocked by some objects

2. The machine is tilted and unstable

3. The water tray has sand holes

4. The drain pipe is too long, exceeding the hydraulic head

5. Excessive pressure inside the connected air duct (for ceiling models)

6. The distance of the machine from the ground is short

7. Structural faults

8. Water pump malfunction

9. The incorrect installation of the third-party water pump

10. The drainage pipe is squeezed

Fault 7: The dehumidifier is always in defrost mode

1. Low ambient temperature

2. Defrosting sensor malfunction

3. Dirty evaporator

4. Mainboard malfunction

Fault 4: The fan is running normally, but the dehumidifier is not dehumidifying at all

Reason 1: The set target humidity value is higher than the ambient humidity

When the set target humidity of the dehumidifier is higher than the ambient humidity, the dehumidifier will consider that the indoor humidity has reached the standard and automatically stop working. This will result in an inability to reduce the humidity in the room, and the dehumidification effect will be minimal.

Method:

After starting the dehumidifier, the current humidity will be displayed on the panel. If the value is higher than 60% or the perceived humidity is too high, it is recommended to turn on the dehumidification mode. The target humidity can be set between 40% -60%, which is a comfortable range for most people.

Reason 2: Refrigerant leakage

The problem caused by refrigerant leakage was introduced in the previous article.

Method:

If conditions permit, users can observe the current and power consumption during the machine's operation. In the case of refrigerant leakage, the working voltage and current values of the machine will be abnormal. After confirming that the refrigerant is leaking, it is recommended to ask the seller for repair to block loopholes and add refrigerant.

Reason 3: The compressor did not start due to various reasons

Check if there is a “” (dehumidification) icon on the display panel. If it is not displayed, it indicates that the machine is not in dehumidification mode.

Causes and solutions:

3.1 Compressor Cable Loosening - Repeatedly plug and unplug the cable to make it properly connected

3.2 Compressor Failure - Replace the compressor

3.3 Poor Capacitor - Replace the capacitor

3.4 Mainboard without Power Supply- Check the method mentioned in "Fault 1"

4.3.1 Check the Compressor Fpc
4.3.2 Check the Compressor
4.3.3 Check the Capacitor

Fault 5: During operation, the machine makes a loud noise

Reason 1: The machine is not placed flat

Use a level to check if it is placed flat and adjust the position of the machine.

Reason 2: The filter is blocked

Clean the filter screen (the cleaning steps see the Fault 3 Reason 2)

Reason 3: The anti-vibration screw of the compressor is loose

Disassemble the machine casing, locate the compressor, and tighten the shock-resistant nut of the compressor.

Reason 4: The swing amplitude of the fan blades is large, or there is friction

Adjust the fan blade screws.

Reason 5: Interference between piping and structural components

Adjust the position of the piping.

Reason 6: Fan bracket deformation

Manually restoring the shape, if unable to do so, requires returning the machine to the factory for repair or replacement of parts.

Reason 7: The shock-absorbing ring is loose

Manually restore the position of the shock-absorbing ring. If you find the ring is lost, contact the manufacturer to replace the part.

5.3 Check the Shockproof Screw of the Compressor
5.4 Check the Screws on the Fan
5.5 Check Inner Pipes and Wires

Fault 6: During operation, the machine is leaking water

6.1 Check the Drip Tray
6.2 Check the Machine Is Placed Horizontally
6.3 Check the Quality of the Drip Tray
6.9 Check the Third-Party Water Pump

Reason 1. The water tray is blocked by some objects

Remove objects and unclog.

Reason 2. The machine is tilted and unstable

Adjust the position of the machine.

Reason 3. The water tray has sand holes

Sand hole usually refers to the hole defect caused by the falling of molding sand during the casting process. This type of hole has an irregular shape and a rough internal surface, commonly found on the outer surface of castings, and is one of the most common defects on castings.

Method:

Replace the water tray.

Reason 4. The drain pipe is too long, exceeding the hydraulic head

Remove the water pipe or replace a water pipe with a proper length.

Reason 5. Excessive pressure inside the connected air duct (for ceiling models)

Confirm the pipeline pressure value and reduce the HVAC pipeline pressure value.

Reason 6. The distance of the machine from the ground is less than 20cm

While meeting usage requirements, increase the machine's distance from the ground as much as possible, ideally over 20 cm.

Reason 7. Structural faults such as an oversized fan, an  unreasonable air duct

Contact the manufacturer for repairs.

Reason 8. Water pump malfunction, float switch failure

Replace the water pump/float switch.

Reason 9. The incorrect installation of the third-party water pump

Check if the float switch logic of the third-party water pump matches the logic of the dehumidifier.

Method:

Install the third-party water pump strictly according to the steps in the instruction manual.

Reason 10. The drainage pipe is squeezed

Unfold the bent water pipe.

Fault 7: The dehumidifier is always in defrosting mode

Reason 1: Low ambient temperature

The low temperature causes the machine to defrost frequently.

Method:

Use heating equipment to raise the ambient temperature. For example, our dehumidifier can work normally in an environment within a temperature range of 5-38°C.

Reason 2: Defrosting sensor malfunction

It makes the machine wrongly recognize the temperature, so the machine is unable to start the dehumidification mode.

Method:

Replace the defrosting sensor.

Reason 3: Dirty evaporator

Dust and dirt on the evaporator can clog the gaps, affecting heat dissipation and cooling performance, resulting in low dehumidification efficiency.

Method:

First, disconnect the power. Then, carefully clean the evaporator fins with a soft brush and rinse with a hose. Next, spray and wash with a solution of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. Finally, wipe dry and let it air dry in a ventilated place for at least 24 hours.

7.1 Check the Defrosting Mode
7.2 Check the Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Reason 4: Mainboard malfunction

A mainboard malfunction prevented the correct switching between "dehumidification" and "defrosting" modes.

Method:

Contact the manufacturer and send it back for repair.
