Why does a refrigerant dehumidifier need drainage?
A refrigerant dehumidifier must drain water because it passes air through a cold evaporator, causing water vapor in the air to reach the dew point and condense into water droplets. That is, the water molecules in the air are condensed into liquid water, thereby reducing the humidity of the air. This condensed water will continue to accumulate in the water pan, and if not drained in time, it can lead to overflow, rewetting, machine shutdown, or damage. Therefore, the refrigeration dehumidifier will inevitably produce a large amount of liquid water during operation, and the water must be discharged. The quality of dehumidifiers on the market varies greatly. Please choose products from experienced and reputable dehumidifier manufacturers.
What are the requirements for the length of drainage pipes?
Determine the distance from your dehumidifier to the drainage point. Longer hoses may require larger diameters to maintain proper flow. It's generally recommended to keep the hose as short as possible to avoid issues with water flow. Most hoses range from 3 to 15 feet.
Flexible use of the water tank and direct drainage
Most commercial and household dehumidifiers come with a built-in water tank. When using a water tank for drainage, it is necessary to regularly drain the wastewater from the tank during use. If the user forgets to empty the water tank, there is no need to worry about water overflowing from the tank. Our machine has an automatic power-off function. For example, the HT901 model is equipped with a 10L water tank. When the water level in the tank reaches a critical value, the machine will automatically shut down, and the panel will flash the water tank logo to indicate, so there is no need to worry about water leakage and safety issues. In addition to using a water tank, a gravity direct drain method can also be used. If there is a floor drain or sewage pipe in the usage scenario, the water pipe can be connected to the machine and the sewer to achieve direct drainage, which can ensure the continuous operation of the machine. The usage details will be displayed in the product manual. After receiving the product, please review the instructions first.
Dehumidifier with water pump has more possibilities
Medium to large capacity machines or professional restoration dehumidifiers come with their own water pumps. A dehumidifier with a water pump can actively drain condensed water without relying on gravity. Its advantage is that even if the drainage outlet is located at a higher position (such as 2-5 meters or more), or the drainage path is longer and the terrain is unfavorable, it can still force water to the target location. After the water pump is started, it will automatically lift the water to a certain height (the lift range varies depending on the model), which is very suitable for use in basements, computer rooms, warehouses, spaces without floor drains, or scenarios that require long-distance pipeline drainage, achieving true "unmanned continuous drainage".
